As part of its continuous efforts to support the Egyptian community through its corporate social responsibility in various sectors, Cairo Festival City Mall, in cooperation with Misr El-Kheir Foundation, launched a wide food distribution campaign, which included more than 20,000 less fortunate citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.
The campaign comes in line with, Cairo Festival City Mall - the leading destination in the field of entertainment’s belief in the importance of adhering to its role towards society, especially in these exceptional circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, which require devoting all its efforts and resources to support various groups within society.
The Food Boxes were distributed after CFCM deployed two large cargo trucks, thus providing support to about 20,000 people in need. The Ramadan Boxes were distributed in cooperation with Misr El-Kheir Foundation in a step that’s sums up the mall's keenness to expand cooperation with the Foundation during the holy month of Ramadan 2021 to help less privileged villages and communities.
The CFCM Campaign comes in parallel with the mall’s strategic plans to execute partnerships with major institutions to enhance its positioning and further aid in the eradication of poverty within the Egyptian society. Earlier this week, CFCM also launched a huge food distribution campaign under the slogan “Kawafel El Kheir”, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Honorable former Mufti of Egypt Ali Gomaa, took place on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
Commenting on the Campaign Haitham Haggar, General Manager of Cairo Festival City Mall, stated: “We are pleased to cooperate once again with Misr El-Kheir Foundation to bring joy to the hearts of the less privileged during this holy month of Ramadan by distributing these food boxes enhancing our role in social responsibility, especially for less fortunate citizens.
Misr Al-Khair Foundation is a strategic partner for CFCM, through which it ensures that the donations reach those who are most in need, to support the mall’s goals during the current month of Ramadan to bring happiness to less fortunate villages by feeding the largest possible number of families.
The mall previously cooperated with Misr El-Kheir at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic through launching the initiative aimed to support service workers in hospitals at the republic level under the slogan "Eftekrouhom Bel kheir", which targeted about 20,000 security officials, cleaners and others with food and Ramadan commodities during the holy month, and last year the mall dedicated its billboards to encourage and urge support for service workers during these exceptional circumstances.
CFCM was also able to renew its support for indebted mothers for the second year in a row, however this year the support came through Misr El-Kheir Foundation to acquit their debts in the new initiative of the foundation under the slogan "Khalawees Lessa" in order to cover the debts of more than 40 mothers with the aim of reuniting them with their families, and this initiative also falls under the "Festival Cares” , the center of all the corporate social responsibility activities that CFCM carries out,
The Cooperation also comes in line with a series of partnerships CFCM carries out with various parties from the public and private sectors, with the ultimate belief in the latter's role in promoting the concept of social participation and the importance of combining efforts for a better future, while working in parallel to provide the necessary support to complete their goals of establishing public schools in Al Fayoum.
As for supporting the process of establishing community schools in Fayoum, in cooperation also with Misr El-Kheir Foundation, Cairo Festival City Mall support’s included raising the overall quality of the school’s infrastructure, providing the necessary school furniture, supplies for each student, and laptops for facilitators.
This governorate was specifically chosen because it is in urgent need for an adequate educational opportunities through community schools as a suitable alternative for the families there because of the limited schools in each region, which leads to many children having to travel a long distance ranging from 5 to 7 Km per day, as a result prompting parents to drop their children out of schools.
Establishments of community schools are among of the basic projects of Misr El-Kheir Foundation, which aim to drive the development and operation of community schools throughout Egypt targeting the dropped out children and those deprived of education, enabling the local community to participate in the management of these educational institutions.
